Automatically ping the creators of the forum

It’s annoying to type the pings, so why can’t it just ping the creator automatically. Idea created by @iia

I don't find this a big issue, as it's pretty easy to press the arrow underneath someone's post and just have the ping automatically done for me rather than write it out someone's name and end up butchering it.

The issue with pinging creators automatically is that the creator may have followed the topic, so they'll get two notifications for a post rather than just one. The other thing is that a topic may be quite old, so the creator is no longer active.

@newlife I find it annoying since when I click it I have to click the arrow literally 10 times until it shows up... and then multiply by 10 people

What do you mean you have to click it ten times 'till it shows up?

And it's not a big issue for me either. I just click that small arrow and it writes out everybody.

What I mean is that I literally click the arrow and it doesn’t work... so I click it like 10 times and then the blue thing finally pops up. Sometimes I use it and people don’t get the ping

That's more of an issue with mobile than anything. Eggcave on mobile is buggy as heck. But on desktops it works perfectly fine. That's why I think you have to press it "10 times" for each person, it's because Eggcave isn't very well suited for mobile and the ads that are put.

Yup, it does take a few tries for the blue thing to show up but usually it's only 2-4 times, not 10 😋 it also happens with things like copying the trade link to clipboard and deleting comments.

also for topics like "count to a million" or roleplays would totally spam the creator with notifs 😱

I tried clicking it and it wouldn't work at all and I'm on a PC! DX
