Egg: This egg is quite small and soft to the touch. You notice that when you touch the egg, small grains of sand fall out from between the fur follicles that cover it. This doesn't seem to harm the egg nor the creature inside though.

Creature: Suryks are very sociable and intelligent creatures. They live in large family groups all across the Northern Plains. This species has developed and advanced social structure and a language consisting of sounds and gestures. Each Suryk family group consists of many individuals taking different roles: Hunters-Gatherers, Guards, Nurses and Cleaners, and a couple of an Alfa Female and an Alfa Male as heads of the family.
Only the Alfas keep their roles until death. The rest of the family may change roles depending on the situation. Guards watch out for predators, Hunters/Gatherers search for food for the family, Nurses take care of the many eggs and young, and Cleaners make sure that the family's huge underground burrow and it's surroundings stay tidy at all times.
The SAR Center has been researching the Suryks' complex language and found out that different sounds and gestures signalise different events. A Guard Suryk will use a specific combinations of noises and signs to warn about different types of predators, while Hunters/Gatherers will use different ones to inform of specific foods they have found. Nurses communicate with the young Suryks by quiet and soft sounds. The Suryks' complex langue is still being studied.
