Richard Russell "Rick" Riordan Richard Jr. was born on June 5th, 1964.
He is mainly known for writing the Percy Jackson series.
Summary of The Lightning Thief (first book in the series)
A 12-year-old boy named Percy Jackso is the main character. Percy Jackson never knew his father. He has been expelled from all of the six schools he has been in. His best friend is Grover Underwood. On a field trip to the museum, his teacher asks him to tell the class about a Greek statue of Zues. Afterwards, the school bully taunts him near a fountain outside. In anger and rage, he first finds his power. In a second later, the bully is sitting in the water and yells that Percy pushed her. His pre-algebra teacher, Mrs. Dodds asks for a word. Bewildered, Percy follows her into the museum where she unleashes her true form. One of the three Furies. She attacks him.

Riordan's books are SO GOOD - I've been slowly working my way through Mark of Athena on mah nook since it's release last Tuesday.

I also loved the Kane Chronicles, even though I went in with no knowledge of Egyptian mythology beforehand. All I know about it comes from those books. xD

@spikaya I LOVE EGYPT and nearly died when Rick Riordan wrote the first Kan book! I need to get the Serpent's Shadow, Son of Neptune and Mark of Athena. They are the only ones I haven't read yet. Do you remember book 1 in the Hero's? The Dragon was in the special book. Percy and Annabeth were trying to save a teammate who got "kidnapped" during a game of capture the flag.

I don't own many books. ☹️ My parents don't let me buy too much... but if I spent what most girls spend on clothes I would have sooo many. I tend to borrow them from the library but that would take for ages. ☹️

I actually didn't want to read The Lost Hero, but everyone told me that it was ridiculously good. So I read it. Couldn't put it down!

Me: Hey, do you like Percy Jackson.
Her: Yes.
Me: Did you read the comic- I mean graphic novel Percy Jackson?
Her: I saw it and don't like it.
Me: *Shrug* I don't either. It's missing a lot of good stuff. In the graphic novel, Percy and Luke don't meet! Chromin- How do you say his name again?
Her: Cromis (or something. I forgot again XD)
Me: Okay. He tells Percy not to go with Luke and Luke stole the sword.
Her: (Walking in the hallway)
Me: (Separates to go to our lockers)
Her: (Gets in line)
Me: Have you seen Godness Girls?
Her: ??? Oh! You mean THE Godness Girls.
Me: Okay, whatever. It's soo girly.
Her: Yeah.
Me: (Going to science class)
