Pengift eggs are found in clusters underneath the tallest spruce tree in the forest. The clusters, which contain five to seven eggs, are wrapped together with colorful ribbons to prevent them from rolling away. The eggs are given out as gifts during Christmas, but it is illegal to take Pengift eggs from the forest. They must be purchased from legal sellers, and the eggs may cost up to tens of thousands of coins due to supply and demand. Avoid the Thief Shop during Christmas, because the Thief often notoriously sells fake Pengift eggs to unsuspecting customers.
Pengift are extremely festive creatures, and like helping out with the holidays. Pengift are hatched with a large pile of ribbons that slowly fall away over time. The last ribbon remaining is a magical ribbon that has special powers only during the holiday season. If the ribbon is wrapped around an empty box or container, the gift that the receiver wants the most for Christmas will appear. However, if the Pengift senses greed or selfishness, the gift will become lumps of coal instead. The use of the magical ribbon is completely up to the Pengift, and they can not be forced to use it. Owners treat the Pengifts extremely well, hoping that the Pengift will bestow the magical ribbon upon them.
