"Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound produced by more than 200 species of mushrooms, collectively known as psilocybin mushrooms. As a prodrug, psilocybin is quickly converted by the body to psilocin, which has mind-altering effects similar, in some aspects, to those of LSD, mescaline, and DMT. In general, the effects includeeuphoria, visual and mental hallucinations, changes in perception, a distorted sense of time, and spiritual experiences." ~

About Faymanita Eggs

This egg was only available in Egg Cave's Cash Shop Park for July 2015.

Coated in red with elevated white spots and wing-like protrusions, Faymanita eggs are as beautiful as they are deadly. The toxicity of these eggs is potent enough to rapidly induce acute liver failure, which in turn leads to death if not treated with immediate haste. Symptoms accompanying the consumption of a Faymanita egg include intense nausea, abdominal cramps, and vivid hallucinations.

While it is actually possible to safely consume a Faymanita egg, albeit with precise and professional preparation, the risks associated with ingesting even the tiniest sliver is oftentimes too much for even the most hardcore of thrill seekers.

Fortunately, fatalities very rarely occur largely in part to Ark City's top-of-the-line healthcare facilities.

About the Faymanita Creature

In their juvenile stage, the Faymanita is nearly indiscernible from its sedentary mushroom cousins. As the species continues to mature, however, it acquires a humanoid appearance and is eventually outfitted with entrancing wings capable of limited flight. These wings serve to quickly escape grounded predators rather than function as a legitimate form of locomotion.

Curiously, a hatched Faymanita does not contain even a third of the poison found within an unhatched egg. Despite this dramatic decrease in toxicity levels, the creature still possesses just enough poison to incite gastrointestinal complications and deter any predators.

Arkian folklore involving the Faymanita will oftentimes make mention of these mushroom creatures as being close friends with Aosidhe and other assorted Fairies. It is unknown if there is any truth to this relationship due to the sheer elusiveness of Fairies in modern times, but the Science and Research Center has managed to draw similarities between Aosidhe and Faymanita behaviors.
