Spooky Prize Pool Discontinued

The Spooky prize pool containing the Hallowolf, Skrulline, Abet, and Luskrull at The VEND Machine has been discontinued. Remember... prize pools can be released or be discontinued at any time. There is also a possibility that creatures may reappear at The VEND Machine at some point in time in the future.

There's a lot more of me out there now!

dragonii • 27 Nov 2018, 2:14 PM

HNNNNNNNNNNNGNNGNNGNGNNGNGN NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I ONLY ONE COIN LEFT! ;-;

silverstreak • 27 Nov 2018, 2:29 PM

Nooooooo oh man, at least I'm still way off. I'd have lost my mind if I was one coin off, lol.

solaris • 27 Nov 2018, 2:32 PM

Aw. Oh well! I canโ€™t wait to see whatโ€™s coming next!

watagachi • 27 Nov 2018, 2:38 PM

NOOOOOOOOO

stefrawr • 27 Nov 2018, 2:43 PM

why get rid of the best prize pool? that's just mean. I got what I wanted, but feel sad for others that couldn't get them โ˜น๏ธ

umbregrl • 27 Nov 2018, 2:52 PM

Didn't have time to get the ones that i wanted! โ˜น๏ธ

seraph • 27 Nov 2018, 3:08 PM

I read it as "discounted" and spent 5 minutes searching for it in the vend page :v

netherling • 27 Nov 2018, 3:50 PM

Timers would be so nice, helpful to the people who spent tons of EC on quests for a certain VEND machine

fainne_24 • 27 Nov 2018, 4:41 PM

I feel so sad, went so many times to the vend machine and no hallowolf for me, I was on my way to another attempt. xD Oh well, I did my best, I really hope they come back again!!!

immortalraven • 27 Nov 2018, 4:47 PM

I kinda like that they don't announce it beforehand

icecloud101 • 27 Nov 2018, 4:49 PM

but i thought the stuff wuz supposed to retire/withdraw from the VEND machine at any time. it did say that in the 1st quests blog post right? it was supposed to be like random or like u guys wouldn't announce it, i believe?

sparklefox • 27 Nov 2018, 5:39 PM

I hope these reappear at least once in the future. I was going to actually remind myself to save up for one of those. I just don't always have the patience for quests.

nanami • 27 Nov 2018, 6:16 PM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

mami • 27 Nov 2018, 6:42 PM

a slight heads up would have been nice. I got what I want, but I can imagine others didnt.

prairie • 27 Nov 2018, 7:15 PM

@immortalraven, same. ๐Ÿ˜Š

immortalraven • 27 Nov 2018, 7:27 PM

@prairie Yeah, they are old critters after all. At least we had the chance to get them? If everyone got them, they wouldn't really be worth anything at all. Their prices already went down significantly from what they were so should be way easier to trade for em than before.

prairie • 27 Nov 2018, 7:39 PM

@immortalraven agreed. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ IDK what the price drop was in Abets, Skrullrines or Luskrulls (think most where 1500cc before????) but I know Hallowolves went down the most: 10k to 2k or so. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Though values might go up again due to demand, now that they aren't at the VEND for now.

prairie • 27 Nov 2018, 7:41 PM

But that isn't bad that the prices went down, I really have no complaints. They are all still valuble/wanted enough to get a profit from them. ๐Ÿ˜Š Unlike if they where re-released in the cave for the same time as they where in the vend, lol.

Ian • 27 Nov 2018, 7:43 PM

We are sorry that this has come as a shock to some of you! We know that you were working hard and this change wasnโ€™t to spite you. We did this based on current circulation and the current population distributions.

Ian • 27 Nov 2018, 7:43 PM

In other words, once a creature has been โ€œre-released into the wild,โ€ it canโ€™t go on for forever, so as to preserve their specialness and creature values.

immortalraven • 27 Nov 2018, 7:52 PM

@prairie Skrulline I had in the TC since the 17th, but I took it out to see what maybe they go for now since they just retired again. But I had been asking for no less than 3ooCC or 2.5 Mil EC and I got no offers, but people may have been waiting to try and get one themselves.

newlife • 27 Nov 2018, 7:53 PM

Yes, but still. A warning should be put into place. We, as players, shouldn't be shocked by something like this. It was the same thing with the CC travels, and now you warn us after SEVERAL of us complained. Here we are again, complaining. Probably nothing will happen.

newlife • 27 Nov 2018, 7:54 PM

We should be warned when VEND creatures get retired, as I mentioned before. Retiring creatures shouldn't be a surprise. We even get a warning when something in the CC shop is close to retiring.

immortalraven • 27 Nov 2018, 7:55 PM

I never valued it more than 1oooCC before vend though. Same with Luskrull not valuing more than 1oooCC before vend and Abet around 15oo to 25ooCC before. I'm not sure what those are going now. I'm glad values went down for others as I know some couldn't afford them before

mrsgiggles • 27 Nov 2018, 8:11 PM

Still waiting for a Doovoo to show up in the VEND, LOL. I will start doing Quests then! ๐Ÿ˜Š

prairie • 27 Nov 2018, 8:17 PM

@immortalraven Ohhh, yah, those values seem about right. xD I didn't really go after them befor so much, so I was never great at their prices. xD @Ian, I love that it's based off of current population distributions and circulation. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ โค๏ธ It's hard to give users a timer for --

prairie • 27 Nov 2018, 8:19 PM

Something like that though to all who are asking for one. I personally like that there isn't a timer or a limit to how many of a creature can be made before the prize retires for awhile again. It kinda puts a damper on those who want to hoard them for trading profit later.

comic • 27 Nov 2018, 8:23 PM

@mrsgiggles Oof, sadly, as Doovoos where cash shop exclusive, I don't think they'll be in the VEND. (The Event/Plot is because they came out right after CRW I believe, though not part of CRW itself) However, there might be a chance Tines will come back.๐Ÿ˜ฑ As they where from cave.

burrito • 27 Nov 2018, 8:56 PM

I'm a bit disappointed too with the lack of warning ๐Ÿ˜ฑ surprised a warning blog can't be put up automatically like 90% of the blog posts are

sprite • 27 Nov 2018, 9:05 PM

I'm glad there is no notice. The Spooky prize pool was around long enough. We are heading into Christmas now so their time is more then up. Look forward to the new pool that will be added.

rayray • 27 Nov 2018, 9:21 PM

From what it looks like, they were discontinued based on their 'current circulation' and 'current population distributions' which seems to point at the idea that there was originally only a set amount of times that could be pulled from this rotation. Hence there really is no way

rayray • 27 Nov 2018, 9:21 PM

to put a 'timer' or 'announcement' on something like this because it could be from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on how actively it's used. To be honest, I don't mind this approach because it allows a bit of spontaneity which is always nice.

moonweaver • 27 Nov 2018, 11:27 PM

Noooo! I was hoping to get a luskrull...

icymuffin • 28 Nov 2018, 12:46 AM

Well, it kind of makes sense that they don't put a date in beforehand. The point is to control the population of creatures being released.

asbe • 28 Nov 2018, 5:36 AM

Oh noes. I wanted one of these four, I've no real interest in others. Just thought they are here until December โ˜น๏ธ

paige • 28 Nov 2018, 11:07 AM

Dang! I was so close to Skrulline Ox;;

love23bug • 28 Nov 2018, 11:47 AM

I'm glad there wasn't a warning - I didn't get one in time, but I think it helps keep the values/rarity up (especially for those of us who have been playing for a long time). The whole point is for it to be random/unpredictable. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Ian • 28 Nov 2018, 1:38 PM

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone! We understand that a warning would be nice but, as others have pointed out, it's basically impossible for us to forecast and do this since VEND prize pools and their availability is based on us closely watching the population distribution.

Ian • 28 Nov 2018, 1:39 PM

For example, a really high-priced VEND prize pool could potentially be around for longer since it takes people longer to obtain the tokens necessary. A low priced VEND prize pool could go quick. We're still getting used to the levers but our main goal is being accomplished...

Ian • 28 Nov 2018, 1:39 PM

...old creatures being placed back into circulation!

spell • 28 Nov 2018, 3:54 PM

I don't think warnings need to be implemented for the prize pools, it was already generous enough for them to be rereleased at all. No warnings will help keep up their rarity, as you'll never know when they'll disappear/appear again ^^

shirona • 28 Nov 2018, 4:23 PM

I can't wait to see what will come out next! Figures crossed for the Tine xP

iris1929578 • 28 Nov 2018, 8:42 PM

Aww, that was my favorite set of creatures even though I was like 197 tokens off.

prairie • 29 Nov 2018, 9:09 AM

@shirona, Oof, yes please. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ It'll probably happen someday, as they are a cave pet after all. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Hope it'll come 2019 February, but maybe it won't happen for a year or so.

caylith • 29 Nov 2018, 3:13 PM

I'm ok with all of this. As long as the hallowolf is promised to return again to the VEND one day, I can wait and horde the tokens for the other things. The Earth Day and St. Paddys day are in spring. Hope to put my hands on some of themed WL pets from the previous years;)

ethereality • 29 Nov 2018, 8:12 PM

It's probably just because I have a tine but if they are released I hope the reward pool is huge and the token requirement is also huge โ˜น๏ธ

armageddondoll • 29 Nov 2018, 8:28 PM

@Ian I don't know how all that works behind the scenes, but maybe you guys could do a "Pool Retiring Soon!" or "This pool is halfway to retiring!" announcement when you see the quota is almost hit, or half filled out for creatures released? Obviously, you said it's not an exact--

armageddondoll • 29 Nov 2018, 8:29 PM

--ly time-able thing, but I think maybe a halfway point announcement for prize pools could be a good compromise since you can't securely predict how long they'll be around. Like, "Hey, this prize pool is halfway to retiring from VEND, get questing so you don't miss your chance!"
