THIS- A DAY AT THE BEACH
The ocean waves,
Bring such delight,
Peaking the ebb and flow.
A peaceful sight…
.
Beautiful sand,
Like crystal white snow,
Softly filters,
Between the toes…
.
A gentle breeze,
Graces the grass.
A deep sighing breath,
Refreshing, relax…
.
The squawking of birds,
An echoing sound.
The rumbling waves,
Beating the ground.
.
A silence and solitude,
In the morn, in the spring,
Distant reflections,
Of precious, held dreams.
.
The day’s lost in slumber,
Quiet ecstasy abounds.
The sandpiper pipes,
While making its rounds.
.
Laughter of children,
From the distance, a cry,
Of a squalling seagull,
As he quickly soars by.
.
The warmth of the sun,
Fresh smelling air,
This- a day at the beach,
Without worry or care.

Special Is

Special is something that fills us with joy,
A friend or a pet, a place or a toy.
Special is something that moves in our soul,
To fill us and change us, making us whole.

Special is something that we can all give,
The things that we say, the way that we live.
Special is something that brings us a smile,
Or helps us forget, our pain for awhile.

Special is something that we all desire,
Like on a cold night, curling up by a fire.
Special’s a rainbow after a shower,
Zebra stripes, leopard spots, beautiful flowers.

Special’s believing in people we love,
It’s picking them up, or giving that shove.
Special’s a strength and a tenderness too,
It’s warm chicken soup, when we have the flu.

Special’s the first leaves that come out in spring,
It’s love on the finger, in the form of a ring.
Special’s a rose with its pedals in bloom,
The color of the sky, a picnic in June.

Special’s sharing a sunset or quiet retreat,
It’s interesting qualities in people we meet.
Special’s seeing beauty wherever we can,
It’s kissing and loving, or just holding hands.
